Overview

Clean air is an integral part of ecosystems and is significant to the natural quality of wilderness character. It not only provides an essential component of the habitat for plants and animals, but it contributes to the wilderness experience by affording clear vistas and a suggestion of primeval character. This course explains the legal basis for managing air quality in wilderness and the various issues involved in air quality management. This course is not intended to make you an air quality specialist, but to acquaint you as a wilderness manager with the laws and processes available to manage air quality in wilderness.
