Water Resources Policy and Management Operations


This course provides instruction on National Park Service Water Resources Division (WRD) management structure, aquatic and ocean management issues affecting parks servicewide and NPS policies that have been developed to address water resource management needs. The course will also address WRD operations within the Natural Resource Stewardship and Science Directorate.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course, you should be able to:

  • Identify and become familiar with emerging issues in NPS water resources management
  • Understand current and developing NPS policies related to water resource management
  • Understand and contribute to the Water Resources Division Strategic Plan
  • Understand Water Resources Division administrative processes
