Overview
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the nation’s record keeper. Of all documents and materials created in the course of business conducted by the federal government, only 1% to 3% are kept permanently for legal or historical reasons. These valuable records are preserved and available, providing clue’s about family history, preserving veteran’s military service records, and allowing researchers and historians access to valuable primary resources.
