In recent years we have seen scandals in several federal government agencies – the GSA, Secret Service and others – that resulted in the resignation or firing of high level government officials due to ethics violations. Due In part to these scandals, the American public is growing increasingly distrustful of government leadership and the government in general.
What sort of behavior can the American public expect from its future government employees, particularly those in leadership positions? Effective transformational leadership is built on vision, communication, inspiration, empowerment and, most importantly, integrity. How can current and future public-sector employees learn to develop these competencies to become transformational leaders?
