Evidence Based Management: An Academic Perspective

The past decade has seen a number of “evidence-based” movements in medicine and policy. Recently, the evidence-based movement has turned to management, with managerial decisions and practices based on scientific evidence, ethics and facts.

In this video, Dr. Melanie Cohen, IT Strategist with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, interviews Dr. Miguel Olivas-Lujan, Professor of Management and Marketing at Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a founding member of the Evidence-Based Management (EMBgt) collaborative. They review developments in EMBgt, common misconceptions and ways in which managers can make their offices more efficient and effective through the use of the best available evidence.
