Lesson Plan Asset Components
When managing lesson plan assets, there are required fields in order to submit your lesson plan. This section focuses on the Vocabulary section with a goal of helping you to create an effective lesson plan in the NPS Educators Portal.
Vocabulary
This section should highlight any special words the teacher and students will focus on during the lesson, particularly if students are unfamiliar with the topic or if the words are challenging. These vocabulary words should be the most useful to the students for this particular lesson plan. Try to limit this section to no more than 10 vocabulary words. If more than 10 vocabulary words are necessary, the lesson plan may be too broad.
A definition should be included with each word. When writing definitions, be sure to use grade-appropriate language and sentence length. This section should only include the vocabulary terms and definitions. Methods for teachers to introduce new vocabulary should be included in the “Procedures” section.
