About the Program
The Aspiring Leader Development Program (ALDP) serves as a foundational development program for aspiring entry-level leaders (GS 5-7 and WG equivalents) by providing participants with knowledge, skills, and tools to support the pursuit and ownership of their own professional development.
The ALDP consist of two phases:
Phase I is open enrollment and consists of self-paced, online courses and videos, assessments, and feedback surveys. Phase I focuses on building a common ground for participants utilizing online resources.
For the year 2021, the online courses and videos are from LinkedIn Learning and TedTalks™. Once individuals are enrolled in Phase I, they will have 60 days to complete Phase I content (approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes of video courses and presentations). Upon completion of all Phase I requirements, individuals will receive a confirmation email of their eligibility for ALDP Phase II.
Phase II is an eight month cohort (36 members) and a structured program, including:
- 15 online workshops (meeting every two weeks)
- Learning activities
- Discussion boards
- Small group discussions
